We are offering the following classes with a view toward helping local areas build their work. These events would be sponsored by local groups, with Spirit & Truth Fellowship staff members traveling to those areas to provide the workshops. The classes can be tailored to meet the individual needs of your particular area and are generally designed to be conducted in three or four sessions over a weekend type setting. Below is the list of the workshops we will be making available. Please contact the Home Office for further details about scheduling a workshop in your area.

The Bible: You Can Believe It
This seminar focuses on why the Bible is believable and why we can trust it. Subjects that are covered include: should we question the Bible; is the Bible based on oral tradition; has the biblical text been copied so much that it is not reliable; does the Bible contain contradictions; does our Bible have missing books; do science, archaeology and history support the Bible; and what is the role of prophecy in showing the Bible is trustworthy.

How to Study the Bible: Interactive “How-To” Study Seminar
This is a seminar designed to help people become comfortable with the tools for basic Bible study, including concordances, lexicons, Bible Dictionaries, Bible atlases, and Bible study software. It is not a lecture series, but a hands-on, “how-to” seminar in which the attendees answer questions about the biblical text using the tools they have. The subject matter can be tailored to the specific needs of the group.

Truth Matters
The idea of a singular truth even existing is under attack and has been replaced by the present post-modern relativism. We believe that there is such a thing as absolute truth. We also believe that the very concept of absolute truth is under attack. Truth Matters is a series of teachings that examines the existence of truth, the characteristics of truth, the importance of truth, and what it means to walk in the light of truth. This course also explores the use of logic and reasoning to expose error and present truth.

Don’t Blame God
This seminar deals with the sovereignty of God and explains that God is not in control of what happens on earth. It explains how God gave authority to Adam, who transferred it to the Adversary. It explains many difficult verses such as God hardening Pharaoh’s heart (Ex. 4:21). It also explores the practical ramifications of our freewill, and discusses things such as God’s timing in human history, and the need for Christians to pray and act if God’s will is going to prevail on earth.

The Gift of Holy Spirit
This seminar teaches about the gift of holy spirit. It covers the different Hebrew and Greek words for spirit and their range of meaning, and explains the difference between God, who is called “the Holy Spirit,” and His gift, which is called “holy spirit.” It also explains the differences between the gift of holy spirit in the Old Testament and what God has given to the Christian Church, explains about the manifestations of the gift of holy spirit, and can include sessions on specific manifestations, including teaching about, and leading people into, speaking in tongues, interpretation, and prophecy.

Romans
This seminar focuses on understanding the thesis of Romans and some of the other more important teachings in Romans. The very foundation of the Christian Faith, salvation only through faith in Christ, is the thesis of Romans. This seminar expounds on the thesis and compares and contrasts it to salvation in the Old Testament. It also teaches some of the other major themes in Romans such as our identity in Christ in chapter 6, the weakness of our flesh in chapter 7, the permanence of our salvation in chapter 8, and God’s dealing with the Jews and Gentiles in chapters 9 through 11.

Old Testament History: A History of the Old Testament
This seminar is an overview of the Old Testament, including teaching from the Torah, Joshua, Judges, Samuel, Kings, and the Prophets. It is a very general overview that can be tailored to individual church needs by including different sections of the Old Testament. Also, specific areas of the Old Testament can be turned into more focused weekend seminars. Some examples would be: “The Civil Law in the Bible,” “The Book of Judges,” and “The Life of David.”

One God & One Lord: Understanding God and Jesus
This seminar develops the idea placed so beautifully in 1 Corinthians 8:6, that “for us there is but one God, the Father…and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ.” It explains the foundational tenet of the biblical Unitarian belief that God is supreme and Jesus Christ is the created Son of God. It explains some of the history of the doctrine of the Trinity, who Jesus is and what the Bible says he is doing now, what it means to us to believe he is fully human, and covers some difficult verses that have been used to try to show that Jesus is God. It goes into some of the powerful effects of believing the truth that Jesus is a man, not a God-man.

Death and Resurrection to Life
In Genesis chapter 3 the devil contradicted God and lied to Eve when he said “You will not surely die.” Nevertheless his deception has borne fruit throughout history in many different cultures, because many people believe that people are not dead when they die. This seminar explains why and how the Devil maintains the lie that people are not dead when they die. It explains “soul” and “spirit” biblically, shows what the Bible teaches about death, explains the future Rapture and resurrections when people will get up from the dead, and explains what will happen to saved and unsaved people at the Judgment. It also explains some of the verses that are used to support the doctrine that people go to heaven or hell.

The Christian’s Hope: The Anchor of the Soul
This seminar explains the future Hope of every saved person, which is to be with Christ as he reigns as king on a restored earth for one thousand years. It explains that Jesus comes down from heaven and conquers the earth in a battle many know as Armageddon (Rev. 19), and then Jesus sets up a kingdom that replaces all previous kingdoms and, as Daniel 2 describes, “filled the whole earth.” It also explains what the Bible says that kingdom will be like, including where Jesus will live, how people will worship, and what they will be doing. It explains what will happen when the one thousand years are over, and the Kingdom that the Bible promises after that. It explains why God says that the Hope is to be the anchor for our souls.

One Body, Members in Particular
A study on the various gifts and callings in the Body of Christ with a detailed examination of the various of gifts of Romans 12, the characteristics and role of the five equipping Ministries of Ephesians 4 (Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers, and Evangelists) and how to discover your particular giftings.

Love: The More Excellent Way
One of the most significant distinguishing characteristics of followers of Christ is the way they love, and we are clearly told that without love, all a person does can be meaningless or of no value to them. This seminar is both informative and encouraging as it examines in detail the records of 1 Corinthians 13 and 1 John in order to learn what love is, what it is not, and how to do it.

The Transformed Life
This seminar goes into the basics of how God says a Christian will become holy: by “the renewing of your mind.” There is a lot of information in that phrase, and even more in the Greek that is difficult to succinctly bring into English. Also, other places in the Bible have information about how to transform our lives and be holy before God.

Mature in Christ
The developmental goal of all of life is to become mature as evidenced by fruitfulness. This workshop explores the idea of what Christian maturity looks like, as well as providing tools that will help us in the growth process. Topics that are covered include developing and becoming knowledgeable and adept in the nine manifestations of the holy spirit, the role of wisdom and faith, and spiritual discernment.

Let’s Get Together
The book of Hebrew warns us that we are not to “give up meeting together, assome are in the habit of doing.” We also know from 1 Corinthians that some of the first-century church meetings did “more harm than good.” This seminar is designed to help and encourage people to get something organized in their areas by providing the proper understanding of the biblical model of a church, various models of governance, what to do when you come together, and how to handle typical problems that can arise. The class also presents the role of doctrine (truth in propositional form) and practice (truth in relational form), the subject of unity, and how to handle conflict in the church.

Christian Leadership
This workshop explores the concept of Christian leadership with an examination of the various traits identified in leadership epistles of Timothy and Titus. We also look at what the primary role of a Christian leader should be, the role of character, the concept of relational authority in the Body of Christ, and what it means to be a servant-leader.

Conflict Resolution
Improperly addressing conflict often results in destroying relationships and harms our ability to work together. In this workshop, a study on the peace-keeper model of conflict resolution including lessons from Proverbs, Matthew 5, and Matthew 18, and will explore sources of conflict, and how to promote healthy conflict.

David: A Man after God’s Heart
This study gleans practical lessons from the life of David that can be used to help us to also be people after God’s heart. In this workshop we look at God’s method of training spiritual leaders, the concept of failing forward, pride and other “giants,” having spiritual friends, the temptations of life, and confrontation and repentance. This workshop is designed to be an encouragement and aims to be a spiritual “shot in the arm” for those who attend.

Elijah: A Man of Like-passion
Often we read the records of the Old Testament and are amazed at the stories of these seemingly “larger than life” characters. In this workshop we study the life of Elijah in detail, his ministerial and prophetic training, his passions and emotions, just like us, and his perseverance in the face of great evil.

Delivered From Evil
The workshop is a series of studies involving the spiritual battle, the nature of the Devil, and his methods and tactics. We also review what it takes to develop spiritual maturity and discernment, identifying evil and the works of darkness, how to cleanse our own temples, and the way in which Satan orchestrates his agenda against each person. This class also emphasizes our power in Christ and our ability to walk in victory over the enemy.

Deliverance
This course is an in-depth study of how demons gain entrance into our lives, the manifestation of discerning of spirits, and introduction to Deliverance Ministry.

Growing in the Prophetic
This seminar is designed to help people gain a better understanding of the manifestation of prophecy versus the prophetic ministry. It includes lessons designed to help understand the manifestations of word of knowledge and word of wisdom, the interpretation and application paradigm, and how to operate in submission to church authority.
