In conjunction with our Thanksgiving holiday here in the USA, this issue's theme is set by the lead article, which is titled, "The Benefits of Thanks-living." Admittedly, the circumstances of our lives in this fallen world often do not prompt us to thankfulness, so it requires an effort on our part to engage in "thanks-living." In this issue we look at the physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of living with an attitude of gratitude. "A merry heart does good like a medicine," and cultivating the habit of being thankful helps us receive those benefits.

Beginning with the incredibly gorgeous photo of the earth on the cover, this issue magnificently highlights the basic truth of Creation versus Evolution (now really, how could random chance produce anything that round?). Articles show how Darwinian Evolutionism has retarded scientific progress, how it is, in fact, a “religion,” and how it strikes at the roots of morality and human self-worth. All Scripture, including the Genesis account of creation, is scientifically flawless, and the closer you look, the more perfect you see that it is.

Here’s an issue loaded with indispensable truth about the Sacred Secret, which God’s Word says was so important that had Satan known it, he would not have crucified the Lord Jesus! For too many Christians, the Sacred Secret is still a secret. If you’re in that category, check out this issue. It is full of practical information relative to the doctrinal truth of what God has accomplished for those of us living in this totally unique period of time that began on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2) and will end at the Rapture (1 Thess. 4:17). Knowing who we are in Christ is the key to knowing how to live.

The theme of this issue is the joy of giving. God’s desire is that each of His children experiences the blessing of receiving His provision in their lives and also of knowing that it came from Him. Paul’s second epistle to the Corinthians contains the most concentrated information and instructions about financial giving of anywhere in the New Testament, and the lead article in this issue explores those truths in detail. If “the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil” (1 Tim. 6:10), then relating properly to money and material possessions can open huge doors of blessing.

Springtime marks the resurgence of new life, and it is fitting that God chose this season to resurrect His Son, Jesus Christ. This issue has an article on The Burial of Jesus Christ, a fascinating look at what few Christians have been taught as to the actual order of what transpired from the moment Jesus died until he was buried, and why Joseph of Arimathea was such a sterling believer. There is also an article on “Easter,” and one about our video presentation, The Good News Class, which is available for you to show in your city.

Appropriately at the start of a new year, this first “new look” issue looks forward, both in terms of our ministry and the individual believers who comprise it. Our heavenly Father is a God of new beginnings, and it is fitting to look back in thanksgiving for His blessings, and forward with anticipation of what He will do as we walk with him into each new day. This issue features a wonderful article on Philippians 3:13,14, with enlightening truth about how to refute what is past and move ahead with the Lord.
