It has been said that nothing good happens without leadership. Of course, many leaders throughout history have led people in the wrong direction. To "lead" simply means to go forward with at least one person following you. Jesus Christ was the greatest leader of all time, and the Word of God has much to say about genuine Christian leadership. This issue of The Sower focuses on biblical leadership, and contains many practical keys for those who desire to influence other people in their lives in a godly direction.

No doubt everyone can think of at least one well-known saying, or certainly a song title, containing the word "love." Love is a subject spoken, written, and sung about perhaps more than any other, but most honest people would have to admit that finding and/or practicing true love has been, at best, very challenging. Standing in aggressive opposition to genuine love is fear. Scripture says that "perfect love casts out fear," and the corollary is also true. This issue of The Sower examines both fear and love, with the goal of helping the reader overcome fear and practice true love.

"If you can't understand it, take it by faith." "You just have to have faith." "Faith moves mountains." These are some of the things being said about faith in Christianity today. Even a cursory look at Scripture shows that faith is one of the most important subjects in the Bible, and that it is at the root of one’s relationship with God. This issue of The Sower examines the vital topic of faith from a number of angles, showing biblically what faith really is, how we can have faith, and why, without faith, it is impossible to please God. It will help you find the biblical balance amidst some of the extreme teachings about faith in Christianity today.

With the theme of "Body, Soul, and Spirit," this issue is loaded with a variety of practical and inspiring features designed to enhance the whole person: spiritually, mentally, and physically. The lead article, "Integrative Living," calls us to "a life not marked by compartmentalization, but by a unity of belief and conduct, of values and behavior." There is an article about the unique gift of holy spirit that we, the Church, get to enjoy today, as well as articles on spiritual healing, nutrition and healing, godly grieving, and the affect of Gnosticism on the Church today. This is a powerful issue.

This Springtime issue of The Sower centers on Jesus Christ and his resurrection, the catalyst for God's plan of redemption and salvation to be accomplished. The lead article shows how Christians are called to follow the Lord Jesus into their own personal deaths and resurrections, which lead to true intimacy with him. A short article summarizes many biblical answers to the question of the ages: Who is Jesus Christ? And the rest of the issue is loaded with other exciting articles and family news, at home and abroad.

"How's life?" For most people, including Christians, a truthful answer to that question would include at least a measure of adversity, no matter when they were asked. Many would describe great adversity or even tragedy or trauma with which they are currently faced. Yes, that's "life" in this fallen world. So what does the Bible say about adversity and how we as Christians are to deal with it? How can we find happiness in an unhappy world? This issue addresses those questions, and more.
