One of the many things I’ve learned through the years is that sorrow is a very real part of this life. Bad things happen to everyone. For some it is sickness, and for others it may be an injury, suffering due to the violent acts of others, or even the loss of a loved one. The list goes on and on.
Through the times of trouble we must keep our eyes fixed on the Lord, for as the Apostle Paul says, “It is by faith you stand firm.” (2 Cor. 1:24). Never forget that God is “the God of all comfort, [and He] comforts us in all our troubles.” When we endure, the pain and the sting of loss eventually passes and then one day we find ourselves in a position where we can “comfort [others] with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.” (2 Cor 1:4).
